Pencils of Promise is a US non-profit organization that creates schools, programs, and global communities around the goal of education for all, having built 605 schools across Laos, Guatemala, and Ghana. For their initiative, we created a children’s book with custom illustrations and later adapted it into a website with animated visuals and interactive educational content.

Challenge
The design challenge was to create a compelling book for Pencils of Promise from the ground up, starting with initial sketches and evolving through detailed illustrations to animated visuals. We needed to incorporate authentic local tribal patterns and represent real people in a consistent, established style. Additionally, the project demanded adapting the design seamlessly across multiple formats: physical print, e-book, and an interactive web version featuring animations and voice-over, ensuring a cohesive and engaging storytelling experience across all platforms.
